Paperweight

August 12th, 2011

We recently designed a set of bookcases for someone, and wanted to get an idea of the total weight of books that might be stored. Just 3.75metres of bookcase with seven levels of books gave 26.25metres of shelving at a potential loading of about 40kilos / metre (we weighed a pile of books), and the result – over 1 tonne of paper!

This is just one reason why we make all our shelves out of solid wood rather than MDF, as over time even thick MDF would sag!

Could this tap replace your kettle?

The next best thing in your new kitchen could come straight out of this tap!   And kettles could become a utensil of the past!

Quooker are now manufacturing taps that give you instant hot water – straight out of a tap.  No magic, no under cupboard boilers or anything like that, just a simple tap that pours boiling water instantly at 100 centigrade.

This tap makes a fantastic addition to your normal hot and cold taps, and is very reasonably priced, and economical in the long run.  If you would like more information, please get in touch.
